One of my favorite things to figure out…is how to make things easier in life! I used to be the girl who set every clock in the house 5 minutes fast so I can get places on time (or at least fashionably late). I’m so excited to share with you what has made my clients lives and even my own life so much easier! Introducing the DIY “DROP ZONE”. It’s the zone that captures all the clutter, bags, shoes, mail, school work, necessities, etc. before it spreads out on your kitchen counter. Seriously, those pesky mail piles are the culprit…piles of mail everywhere! And how many times are you running out the door and you can’t find your sunglasses, keys, etc. This DIY solves all of these problems…and will help you get out the door on time! Here are some of my favorite baskets… (These may or may not fit in your Drop Zone.) Also try your local HomeGoods/Tjmaxx store for basket options. And don’t forget to take one of the adjustable shelves with you to make sure the basket will fit!
The structure is all from IKEA. The collection name is HEMNES. The color is WHITE STAIN. It consists of 2 bookcases, 1 TV console (that we put a cushion on top), and 1 bridging wall shelf. The sheet of beadboard is from Home Depot. It comes in a 4′ x 8′ sheet. They can cut it for you there. The 1/4 round trim pieces and white hat hooks are also from Home Depot. The cushion is from PIER 1. The dimensions fit perfectly….whoop whoop!
