This bag is stunning and very versatile! It is such a classic design that goes with almost everything. This bag can easily be used for an everyday look and if treated well could one day be passed down to your littles. The Loulou medium quilted leather shoulder bag is great too if you like a medium size tote and I definitely like this on days I have more that I need to carry with me.

H O U S E S L I P P E R S

I have found so many great slippers lately but these slippers are so good. They actually have a 1 1/2 inch wedge heel and a cushioned foot bed which I really love. Also, the fur on them is so soft and the quilted stitching makes them look really expensive. They come in black also which are currently not in stock but I am hopeful they will come back. The cream is still in stock and they are 25% off right now!

D O L M A N D R E S S

Even though none of us are going anywhere fancy right now this dress has been so popular this month! This midi dress is so cute and has a wrap look to it with a twist-knot at the waist creating a natural split int he bottom. This dress features elbow length dolman sleeves, raw-cut edges and is partially lined. This is a pull over style and also comes in Navy blue and blush. I would also pair it with some cute hoop earrings like these.

When it comes to basic tees like this one I’ve learned they are not all created equally! This tee from Madewell is one of my favorites because it is so soft and a perfect length. I like the v-neck and pocket. This tee is great to pair with jeans or joggers and perfect for layering. It comes in a cream, white, black and a grey. The best part is this piece is less than $20 and comes in extended sizes! For reference I purchased the size small.

This one is the top of the line as far as quality goes. They last forever too. Mine have been subjected to serious wear and tear and even have been washed and they are holding up so well. Also, they are really cute when styled as home decor or in a basket by the fireplace!

I am so thankful for the extra time with the family even though it can be stressful with schooling them and all the other adjustments we’ve needed to make. TIPS FOR WORKING FROM HOME

The past couple weeks have been a big mix of emotions. However, I am happy that we have each other! The most important thing is for everyone to stay safe and healthy. I hope that my blog and IG will give you a place to find inspiration. I also hope it helps bring a smile and an escape from it all.

So many are staying home and that means a lot of us, like myself, will be working from home. Some of you may not have a home office. Which is why I thought you may be interested in a few items that I have found helpful through the years.

Also, I am going to include a few comfortable outfits that still make you feel put together and in a productive mood.

1. Create a schedule and try to stick to it. It is so easy to get distracted when you are at home but try to stay on track so you can accomplish all of your goals for the day at a decent time. This productivity Timer is a game changer. It has really helped me stay on task!

2. Get ready every morning even if you still put on cozy clothes because it makes a huge difference in your motivation. Also, now is a great time to skip makeup so your skin can breath. I would recommend doing some face masks or treatments that you’ve been meaning to try. Working from home makes it so easy.

3. Find a space in your home where you can get a little privacy and not be interrupted all day if possible. When you are in direct sight of family members they are going to want to chat with you and ask you where everything in the house is. Lol. I’ve been borrowing my husbands new office space. It’s a room hidden from our main living areas so it’s nice and quiet.

5. Make sure to take a few small breaks so you don’t get burned out. Maybe throw in a load of laundry, do the dishes or take a quick walk to the mailbox. This helps break up the day so you aren’t completely fried at night.

6. Try and be as productive as possible during the day so you can stop working at a normal hour. If you don’t then you will end up working so late and get burnt out. Work will also start to spill into family time which is not good. I’m super guilty of this. Especially now I’m having a hard time focusing on tasks. Partially because I’m taking on home school teacher and I’m stressed out with all the sad news going on around the world.

Personally I need to work in silence in my own to be the absolute most productive I can be. But I know a lot of you may work in noisy office buildings so you may be used to and even need background noise. If that’s the case I have the best easy listening playlist on Spotify….click here to listen

HOW TO CREATE A GALLERY WALL

My highly requested “How to hang a Gallery Wall” post is finally LIVE!!! Thank you all for submitting your questions…see below for my Tips, pictures, FAQ’s and more!

Attempting to hang a gallery wall can be daunting. Trust me I know. We have a hallway upstairs that still is waiting for a second gallery wall to be hung…and we’ve lived in our home for almost 10 years…lol. This gallery wall you see here is part of our hallway from the Entry and in between our living room and study area. I wanted it to be in a space that not only creates visual interest, but also as a conversational piece when we have guests and friends come over. Everyone always loves to stop and look at the pictures and it really creates a cozy welcoming feel.

The first step in creating your own beautiful gallery wall is to first find the right space in your home. This could be a long hallway this could be a stairwell this could be an open space behind a console table, buffet, dresser etc. This could also be at the end of the hallway, up the stair case, etc. All you need to look for is open wall space.

After you find your wall start looking around at different finishes in the room. Look at the flooring, different furniture, wall color, paint color, fixture finishes etc. This will help you choose the right color of frame. We have white walls and light wood flooring and I wanted this gallery wall to be more organic and subtle. So I chose a light wood colored frame with white matting to blend nicely with the rest of my homes aesthetic. You could also have your gallery wall be more of a statement. With that in mind think of contrasting frames and mats and consider what color the wall is behind the frames. They will either make the frames pop or blend in.

Here are the Gallery Frames I used

I ordered all of these frames online and I decided to go monochromatic with the same finishes but I purchase different size frames. It’s very hard to map out exactly what you’ll need so my tip is to order extra and either return what you don’t use, use the extra frames in another room, or you might be surprised and end up using even the extra ones in your gallery wall. I like to call it the “wing it” method LOL.

I did a mix of large and medium size frames. I ordered 8 of the very large frames and 8 medium frames. I also encourage you to buy small size frames to mix in as well. The wall I chose wasn’t extremely large so unfortunately I wasn’t able to add in the smaller sizes. However I do love how that looks.

Once all the frames arrive lay them all out as you think you might want them but on the floor right below the gallery wall. This is a crucial step for a successful and easy gallery wall installation. I always lay out any artwork that involves multiples on the floor before I put any nails in the walls. Once you get a general idea of how the frames will lay out on the floor take the center frame or which ever one is in the very middle and measure that and hang it centered on your wall.

I always start from the center.  I can’t even tell you how much easier it is to hang a gallery wall once you have a focal frame already hung. After you hang the center one grab the other top and bottom and hang those leaving one and a half to 2 inches of a gap.

From there hang the two frames that are to the left and to the right of the center frame leaving one and a half to 2 inches in between. And from there so on and so on until eventually you will see that your whole gallery wall is hung.

I decided to keep our gallery wall cohesive with the photography. So I printed out photos from one of our favorite family photo shoots. This is where you can get really creative and fun with what you frame in your gallery wall. You can do all black and white photos or sepia. You could also frame different wallpapers, fabrics or artwork. The options are endless and and so fun to design.

Q & A

Q: How do you properly measure and space out the frames?

A: All the frames were layed out on the floor right below the wall. You can almost pretend that the floor is your wall which really helps visualize how your gallery wall is going to look. After it’s layed out I take the center frame and measure that centered (from left to right) on the wall. Then I place the center of that frame to about eye-level and nail it right in. From there I hang the next frames that are adjacent to the center frame I already hung up. I just measure 1 1/2″- 2″ in between each frame.

Q: How to decide what size frames to use and do you mix sizes?

A: I did a mix of large and medium size frames. I ordered 8 of the very large frames and 8 medium frames. I also recommend buying some smaller sized frames for gaps or area’s that need to be filled. These frames can be square, rectangular or even oval!



Q: How do you choose your photos?

A: For this particular gallery wall I chose a variety of photo’s from our family photo session. I love how all the photo’s are different but have the mood, similar tones and colors. You can easily achieve this by printing out all of your photo’s in Black and White. Even if they are from different days, years, events, etc.

Q: How do you map out and chose the placement and spacing?

A: I always lay out the pattern on the floor in front of the gallery wall first. Then I hang the center frame first for a starting point. I prefer a 1 and a half to 2 inch space between each frame.

Q: Can you provide some tips on how to hang frames perfectly straight?

A: I would suggest using a laser level and a ruler.

Q: What hardware do you recommend using and also a damage free alternative?

A: We just used skinny nails and a hammer

Q: What size pictures would you recommend using?

A: There are no rules for this…but we used mainly 4 x 6 and 5 x 7 images. 8 x 10 is also another popular size to print out for Gallery Wall frames.

Q: How do you choose the width of the mat?

A: Most frames already come with matting included. If not most Micheal’s stores carry matting you can buy separately. The frames I used have a much larger matting which I love.

Q: How do you narrow down or select the pictures that make it on the wall?

A: In my case I got lucky since we just got our family photo pictures back. They are all cohesive in regards to tone, colors, location, etc. My advice would be to select photos that make you happy and bring up good feelings and memories. Having an eclectic photo mix is beautiful and even more so when there is meaning behind the images.

Q: What level or height do you hang the frames?

A: This all depends on the height of your ceilings, if your gallery is going above furniture, etc. But in my case I started with the center frame… and measured the center of that frame landing at eye level. (I’m 5-7 and I have 9′ ceilings).

Q: How do you decide between Black, White or Sepia?

A: This is personal preference. I would take a look at the finishes and color scheme you are going for. The sepia is more of a warmer tone and the classic B&W is on the cooler side. I personally like B&W best.

Q: Does your wall color play into the choices you made for the frame and mat?

A: Yes! Again there are no rules here. I wanted a more neutral, subtle look. But I also love a good pop of Black frames against a white wall.

Q: What paint color is your gallery wall?

A: Benjamin Moore: Simply White.

Baseboards and trim are: Benjamin Moore: Chantilly Lace

Q: Do you center the gallery on the wall or the space that is available..i.e if an open door covers part of the wall?

A: I would space it out evenly with the space that is available. If a door is present I would measure from the end of the door frame to the other end of the wall.

WORKING FROM HOME

Many of you may have been home for an entire week or more already. I’m guessing by now comfort is taking over and all you want to do is be in your coziest of clothes. I am happy to share that I found a few really cozy pieces and even one that would be office appropriate…for when it’s time to go back to an office. I hope you all are staying safe and healthy and in good spirits. Remember we are all doing our part and are in this together! See below for sizing and more details. This knit blazer is so good. This blazer feels like pajamas but helps to polish an outfit easily for an office setting. If you follow me on ig…you probably have seen me share this amazing soft blazer from Jockey! You could pair this with a basic white tee and joggers or even a pair of jeans to keep a casual look.It comes in grey and back and it is really comfortable and has some stretch to it. It has pockets which is always a loved feature in clothing. This jacket also comes in extended sizing so more people can enjoy it! Fyi… I am wearing this in a size small.

J O G G E R S

If you have been following me for a while then you know joggers are probably one of my favorite pieces of clothing to wear! And, these joggers are so great and a little more on the pajama/loungewear side. They are sooooooo comfy!! I have them in several color-ways and buy them every season. These now come in 4 colors, have a drawstring closure and cute button details. For reference I am 5 ft 7 and am wearing a size small.

L E G G I N G S

The best part about working from home is that we can be comfortable. Leggings and sweaters all day! These leggings are really great to wear as part of a styled look or just to work out in. They have a small zippered pocket in the back for an ID/credit card and key! Right now they are available in this pretty grey only. For reference I am 5 ft 7 and wearing a size small.

If I had to only pick a few of my favorite makeup items for a natural everyday look it would be these four.

1. Luminous Silk Foundation from Giorgio Armani. It has the prettiest dewy finish that makes you look flawless and fresh faced. It is lightweight and comes in 18 shades which I love.

2. Touche Eclat all over brightening Pen by Yves Saint Laurent. This is one f my favorite products because it gives you such good coverage but gives you that no makeup make up look.Also, this comes in 11 shades.

3. Lash Building Primer from Clinique. If you have never used a lash primer prepare for your mind to be blown. This one is a serious game changer.

4. Brow Powder Duo from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I have tried so many brow products and this is by far my preference. It looks natural, lasts all day and having2 colors in each pallet helps get you the perfect color every time.

I love this sweater from Free People. It is made of cashmere has a raw neckline, exposed hem and dolman sleeves! So cute and so comfortable. It also comes in several other colorways. I paired this with denim jeans but this sweater would also be great with shorts, maxi skirts or work slacks.

B E A C H V A C A T I O N

Girls, this bandeau swimsuit is so fun! I love the pattern and the stretch. It makes it so comfortable. The leopard print is under stated which I like and the fabric is so unique. This is the perfect suit for a beach vacation and would pair great with a black kimono and denim jean shorts.

There have been so many beautiful new release sandals this season. These T-Strap pearl sandals are one of my current favorites. I love a good Monochrome look. It takes the guesswork out of what colors go together and just looks so clean and crisp! SKINCARE FAVORITES WITH COLLEEN ROTHSCHILD

If you have been following me for a while then you know how much I believe in a great skincare routine. I only share products with you that I love and today I am going to share a few more! With all of the different brands and options out there it sometimes gets overwhelming to know which products you should be using…and what the differences are between all of them. Also, why do we need them, and what results should we expect from them?

RETINOL SUPREME NIGHT OIL

This is one of my absolute favorite products! I use it every other night. How many of you use a retinol product? It has been gaining a lot of popularity and for good reason. Retinol is basically Vitamin A which can help your skin to regenerate and encourages healthy skin renewal. That means dead, dull and dry skin is replaced with brighter smoother new skin. This product also has Vitamin C and several other oils to help with moisture and to reduce flaking. With this product I have noticed my skin is more hydrated and plump looking. If you’ve been following me for a while you know I’m also a huge fan of their Retinol Supreme Eye Serum! I think I might be on my 4th or 5th bottle…it’s that good! What I love about it is how it hydrates under your eye while helping with anti-aging.

BALENCING GEL CLEANSER

I really like this gel cleanser from Colleen Rothschild because a little goes a long way. It is so gentle and doesn’t leave a residue on my skin. I feel like it helps to brighten my skin too. I just love how clean it gets my skin. It also has white tea in it to help purify and it smells so good. This is a great product to help prep your skin. Clean skin is the best canvas for all your other skincare products.

GLYCOLIC ACID PEEL PADS WITH BLUE AGAVE

These pads make you feel like you just got a spa treatment! They help get rid of whatever is clogging your pores and helps to exfoliate. So you are left with cleaner, smoother and more hydrated skin. They are packed full of so many ingredients that are beneficial to your skin like Blue Agave to help sooth, Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate and Glycolic and Lactic Acids to help reduce the appearance of fine lines. I have notice that after a few uses my skin looks brighter and more hydrated. I even did a mini spa on my husband (I made him…lol). And he even made a comment about how his skin looked after I used these pads on him.

WEEKEND STYLE

One of my favorite things to share are looks that are versatile, comfortable, and affordable. Here I styled 2 different looks that are completely interchangeable.

L O O K O N E

I love both of these looks. This one is a little dressier with a leopard maxi skirt. The Golden Goose sneakers help to keep it casual. I paired the camisole with a jean jacket and an oversized tote bag which is also really great for travel!

L O O K T W O

This look would be great for pretty much any daytime event. You can dress it up with heels too for a evening casual dinner look! I love this faux suede moto jacket, it is so good! It also comes in two colors and the price is really great! I paired it with a basic white tee and denim jeans. Then finished it of with a designer wallet on a chain and some cute leopard sandals.

I love these linen pants! They also come in black and in white and run a little long. I am 5 ft 7 and am wearing 4″ heels in this image (wearing the size xxs pants. I normally wear xs bottoms). They have an elastic drawstring waist which makes them really comfortable and perfect for any vacation! I paired them here with a basic white tee, white wide brim hat and a Mui Mui handbag (which also comes in 5 colors) for an easy beach resort look.

This swimsuit top is so cute and feminine! I love the delicate sleeves which can be worn on or off the shoulder. Right now it is only available in a pretty bright green but it is 75% off!! Also, this wide brim hat is a great summer staple. It can be worn with literally anything and adds so much style to any outfit. From resort wear to jeans and a graphic tee or just when you are lounging in your bathing suit.

How fun are these pants? (wearing the size US2). This is a great weekend look to grab brunch with the girls but also a great everyday look for the office! These cropped trousers can be worn with a basic white tee like I did here or a blazer, or a sweater in the colder months. I paired them with a YSL Handbag and some cute nude pumps!

How cute is this dolman knit jacket! It comes in 8 colors…this one is the color “champaign diamond”. It has a zip front closure, oversized dolman style sleeves and pockets at the hip. It is a slightly oversized and slouchy fit (I’m wearing the size xs) . I paired it with a basic white tee and denim jeans. Btw…how cute is this cuff bracelet?

L O U N G E W E A R

These joggers are so good! They are made of the best stretchy fabric that almost look a little dressy. (size XS bottoms and size Small top. Bottoms run true to size, top runs small). I paired them with a long sleeve black top to get a monochrome jumpsuit look. This would also be a great travel outfit because it is so cute and really cozy! Speaking of travel…this tote is the best. It’s the perfect size to fit your lap top and all of your other travel essentials.
