If I had to name these shoes they’d be Pocahontas-chic. I ordered them in my regular size…but they run a little on the big size. If you have a narrower foot I would order down 1/2 a size with this sandal so you save time on an exchange // Shop this sandal below…

Sale, Free Shipping and these flats…
Are you sick of seeing me in these flats yet? I’ve literally worn them like a million times since I bought them. I have to say that I have super sensitive feet. I turn down many shoe purchases since the word “ouch” is not a good way to start the relationship. But theeeeese flats.…ahhh. They felt like butter the minute I took them out the box and put them on. I get lots of compliments on them too. Especially asking if they are Valentinos??? I usually answer with, these shoes cost the price of the Sales Tax of a pair of Valentinos. This top is also on Sale…and today is the last day for free shipping! You can find it here.
These flats come in other colors too. I bought the blue color…but haven’t worn them yet. If you’re looking for some comfy-stylish flats for Summer…grab them before they’re gone. xoxo

Midi Dress aint be frump’n

Midi dresses can be a challenging piece to pull off. I have larger calves so I need to be careful that the hem line doesn’t hit the widest part. It only will make your calf muscles look more exaggerated. This midi dress hits below my calves which gives it a more flattering look. Here are some other tips or things to consider when wearing a Midi Dress:1. HIGH HEELS : This will immediately elongate your legs which is what you need sometimes when the hem line visually cuts off the natural length of your legs.
2. ALTERATIONS : A trip to your local seamstress might be what your dress needs for the perfect fit!
3. ACCESSORIES : Even this midi I’m wearing (that has no shape) can go from plain to chic by adding some basic accessories. A hat, dressy flats, sunglasses.
4. BOLD LIP : This can transform your look. I recommend this especially if you keep your accessories to a minimum.
5. CONFIDENCE : Have good posture. (I definitely need to work on the posture part. I be slouch’n)
If you have any style questions or suggestions for an upcoming post please send me an email… Would love to hear from you! xoxo aylin@stylinbyaylin.com

LIP – TIP
Lip-Tip: I started dabbing some of my ultra hydrating eye cream on my lips before applying lipstick. It helps keep it on longer, decreases the dryness of the matte lipstick and minimizes the bleeding to hide some of the super fun signs of aging.

Rock that T-shirt

Sweet…we got a sitter! It’s been a long while since the Mr. and I got out. It’s always fun to have an occasion to get dressed up for. Especially after this long crazy week. My poor little girl has been sick with a high fever. In the meantime I had to take care of my mom after her surgery. Then unexpectedly had to rush her to the ER after a complication. That was a frightening experience. Thankfully everyone’s on the mend and getting healthy again. It’s crazy how those scary moments put everything in perspective. Health is so important. And it makes you realize that sweating the small stuff in life is a BIG waste of time. Now onto the other stuff. I love styling T-shirts. They’re comfortable, versatile, and I love the juxtaposition of dressy to causal. Wether you own a boxy, fitted, cropped or baggy T-shirt I guarantee you can rock it for your next Date night with my Tips!
3 tips to rocking a T-shirt for Date night!
1. If you’re going to keep your jewelry to a minimum try pairing your T-shirt with a dressy bottom. Example: Slacks, pencil skirt, dressy shorts…etc. Pretty much any bottoms that have a dressier fabric. I wore a boxy cropped T-shirt and paired it with a fun, high-waisted, bright patterned pencil skirt.
2. If you’re going to wear statement jewelry you can pretty much get away with any bottoms. Example: if you’re wearing your T-shirt with a statement necklace and high heels you can pair that with even blue jeans. I added a fun Anthropologie statement necklace.
3. Accessories matter! Tie your look together with the right shoes and handbag. I tied in the grey tones of my statement necklace with these grey heels. My white bracelet and cocktail ring tie in with this forever 21 clutch.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog! I’m so excited to help give your wardrobe more styling versatility!! xoxo

Shopping TIPS…

I bought these Anthropolgie joggers on a Tuesday, and wore them Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Hey-dont’ be judge’n 😉 I can only express my honesty to explain how much I love these pants!! Here are my 3 most important shopping tips I always recommend before you purchase investment pieces.1. The comfort. Is this a piece you would want to wear? Is the fabric soft, stiff or crunchy? I can’t stand a pair of crunchy jeans…if you know what i mean. I always look for materials that have some stretch in it. You want to invest in pieces that feel good on your skin. If it’s not comfortable to wear…I guarantee it will most likely just sit in your closet. This brand I’m wearing has my heart. It literally feels like you’re wearing your PJ’s! You can read more about this brand from one of my last few posts right here.
2. The quality. I’m pretty good at accessing the quality with just feeling the fabric. Don’t let the price and sometimes even the name brand fool you. I’ve bought items from the same designer and have had one be a great quality item…and the other NOT so much. These pants I’m wearing are not what I would call inexpensive…but when you wear them so much you know it’s worth the investment. And when something lasts wash after wash you know it’s a score in the Quality department!
3. The styling versatility. This tip is very important! When buying an investment piece you want to make sure you can wear it 3 days in a row. Ok, just kidding. But what you want to ask yourself is, “can I wear this in more than one way?”. For example if you’re looking for a shift dress for summer try seeing yourself wearing it to different occasions. Maybe it’s paired with flip flops, sunglasses, cross body bag and a tassel necklace for an afternoon BBQ. Then belted with a blazer, a clutch and high heels for a dinner date. That’s why I love these Anthropologie pants so much. They can be worn with flats, heels, flip flops. They can be worn with blacks, whites, colors, chambrays. Depending on how you accessorize it… will also change the look.
So keep these tips in mind the next time you’re about to invest in a purchase. Thank you so much for visiting my blog! xo

Add a little Boho…
I love adding a few boho pieces to my wardrobe. It reminds me of warmer days, vacations and trips to the desert. Not Coachella. But I would like to go one day…but for now it’s only Couchella that I’ll be attending. You can add a little boho to your wardrobe by bringing in pieces with fringe. This top I’m wearing above has a really fun, flouncy fringe bottom. The upper details keep the look feminine and dainty. You can find this top here. Currently on Sale too! See below for my current favorite boho pieces that you can add to your wardrobe without breaking the bank. xoxoRead More » -
Ain’t got time to get a mani…
Since I’ve lost my patience for getting gel manis every couple weeks I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect polish that I can do at home. I wanted that same thick and shiny look. This polish above has been the answer! It’s from @urbanoutfitters and it is called “sweet tooth”. Only $5 too. My secret weapon to making it last long is using ORLY’s “nail defense”. I would first recommend 1 coat of the “nail defense” then 2-3 thin coats of polish. Let that dry for at least 10-15 min. (Hair dryer speeds it up). Then add 1 more coat of ORLY’s “nail defense”. It should last you up to 10 days!

Get’n “Springy” with it…
I’m so excited to share my go to brand for staple tops! Cloth and Stone all the way baby… I love love this line! I could probably open a small boutique with all the Cloth and stone I own…just kidding, kinda. But what I really love most about this brand is the Quality – Style – & Comfort. They not only carry tops but also dresses, shorts, pants…etc. I pick up my Cloth and Stone pieces at either my local Anthro shop or at anthropologie.com. I linked some that are currently available below. If you have yet to own a Cloth and Stone piece you’re missing out! xoxoRead More » -
DIY! Make your life easier…
One of my favorite things to figure out…is how to make things easier in life! I used to be the girl who set every clock in the house 5 minutes fast so I can get places on time (or at least fashionably late). I’m so excited to share with you what has made my clients lives and even my own life so much easier! Introducing the DIY “DROP ZONE”. It’s the zone that captures all the clutter, bags, shoes, mail, school work, necessities, etc. before it spreads out on your kitchen counter. Seriously, those pesky mail piles are the culprit…piles of mail everywhere! And how many times are you running out the door and you can’t find your sunglasses, keys, etc. This DIY solves all of these problems…and will help you get out the door on time! It’s amazing what being organized can do. I hope you enjoy my video…all the details of where to shop are mentioned there and below. I hope this inspires you to create a drop zone of your very own! If you have any further questions please comment below. Would also love to see your pictures if you end up installing your very own DIY “drop zone”!! Please tag me in your pictures…or you can hashtag #stylinbyaylin. xoxo.

Here are some of my favorite baskets… (These may or may not fit in your Drop Zone.) Also try your local HomeGoods/Tjmaxx store for basket options. And don’t forget to take one of the adjustable shelves with you to make sure the basket will fit!
The structure is all from IKEA. The collection name is HEMNES. The color is WHITE STAIN. It consists of 2 bookcases, 1 TV console (that we put a cushion on top), and 1 bridging wall shelf. The sheet of beadboard is from Home Depot. It comes in a 4′ x 8′ sheet. They can cut it for you there. The 1/4 round trim pieces and white hat hooks are also from Home Depot. The cushion is from PIER 1. The dimensions fit perfectly….whoop whoop!

MAKE A STATEMENT!
Statement necklaces. They can take a boring neckline up a few notches. But there are some guidelines to follow when sporting this look.
Here’s are my quick TIPS:
1) I would avoid all earrings unless they are simple studs. Over accessorizing cheapens the look.
2) Update your plain collard shirt by buttoning it up high and adding a statement necklace under the collar. Instant makeover!
3) Let the necklace make the statement…and keep the rest of your look easy and simple. Think basic tee and jeans…then add the statement piece.
I’ve linked this exact necklace and a few of my other current favs below. If you have any questions please email me at aylin@stylinbyaylin.com or comment below. xoxo

Featured @Anthropologie
I’m so honored to be featured in Anthro’s subscriber email this morning! Thank you Anthropologie! I do have to be honest though. I had a really hard time deciding if I wanted to share or post this. I’ve always been the type to keep most things to myself or share with just close friends and family. Maybe I over think things? And to share something that I’m proud of is hard for me sometimes. By having a blog and with social media…you definitely put yourself out there. Sometimes it freaks me out. But mostly it makes me feel so blessed to have a platform to express my creativity and share my styling tips, home design, mommy life experiences, the good, the bad, etc. with all of you! So here’s to stepping out of comfort zones, being thankful and feeling blessed.

Pineapple please…

This top has been SOLD OUT at Anthropologie for a while now. I’ve been keeping an eye out…and guess what??? They re-stocked in ALL sizes!!! I will be wearing this pretty, sheer, pineapple top a lot this spring/summer. Like they always say…”it’s all about the details”. And this top is no exception. It’s feminine, dainty, my favorite color, flirty, and great quality. I played down the girly-ness by pairing it with distressed, hole-y jeans. It would also look great with cut off denim shorts, distressed blue jeans, or a pencil skirt for a fancier occasion. Just keep the bottoms more fitted to balance the flouncy silhouette. xoxoRead More » -
Sheer Layers
This gorgeous sheer top is the perfect example of how easy it is to dress up an old T-shirt and jeans! It’s super flowy…which I love. I will say…I was channeling my inner ms. Roper just a little. Even though it does “dress up” your look…you will still have an effortless, laid back feel if you wear flats. Wearing high heels will definitely take this look up a notch. xoxoRead More » -
My Suitcase
Heading out of town for a very inspirational and fun weekend with our favorite mentors Bret and Chalene Johnson! We feel so blessed to have them in our lives to help us achieve “smart success” vs. “stressed success”. We’ll be indoors mostly but with this warming weather I’ll be packing lots of layers. I’ll also be bringing more casual-comfy attire that will be dressed up with accessories. Dressing well doesn’t mean you have to compromise on comfort. The Cloth and Stone (top – left) is so, so, so soft. You could literally use it as a night shirt to sleep in. You can shop more of what’s in my suitcase below. Hope you all have a great rest of the week and weekend! xoxo

Age is just a #
One of my favorite things on this entire planet is playing “like a kid” with my own kids. I have my parents to thank as exceptional role models. Age is really just a number...That being said it’s really important to have comfy pieces in your wardrobe. And by comfy it doesn’t have to be your typical sweats and yoga pants. Leggings are always my go to staple. And trust me : “leggings are NOT created equal!” I’ve gone through so many pairs…from $9- to over $50. Hands down…the winner are these leggings by Splendid!!!! I did a side by side test with my cheapy BP ones. You can feel and see the difference…(holes are not a good sign)....p.s. this cardigan just went on sale for only $20.40. Shop it below….Read More »
