Hi friends! I have to tell you… I was a little emotional yesterday feeling all the things about my babies (not so baby anymore) going back to school. I’m sure all you mama’s out there know exactly how it feels.  Two things helped me get through the day…went out for mimosas and brunch with one of my BF’s and the other was hearing how much fun and what a great first day my 2 littles had!  After school we had piano lessons and soccer practice.  This mama is pooped. 

 

BTW….I found one of the cutest dresses and wanted to share it with you all!

I love a good leopard/Cheetah print as long as it’s done right.

I’m sure you’ve noticed that this season snake print has been all the rage…but to be completely honest I’m not a huge fan of it. However, when you find a little number as cute as this one you have to get it and you HAVE to share your find with all your friends!

 

 

I can’t get over how cut this dress is it is the perfect length and cute. This dress has such great movement in the skirt and sleeves because it is made out of really light airy chiffon making it extra flowy. The wrap-look is so flattering and feminine I just love it. And speaking about things I love can we talk about how cute these bell sleeves are? They are so cute and add so much character to this dress. I think it would look super flattering on most body types and for both tall or shorter girls.

You can dress it up with a clutch and heels for an evening look. You could add a leather jacket and booties to give it  little edge and can just wear flats or sandals or like I did here…sneakers for a more casual look. I also really love this new YSL Lou Matelassé Leather Camera Bag. So cute in every color it comes in!

Even though this seems like it is a summer dress the long sleeves can easily take you into fall. You can wear it with over the knee boots  and a crop jacket. You could add a scarf or even layer a sweater over it. There are so many options for fall especially since the days tend to be a little warm still depending on where you live. Paired with the right accessories, these dresses can get so much more wear out of them.  So, before you put them in the back of the closet this fall take a look at warmer clothing you can pair them with to get a little more use out of them!

While I love summer I have to say that I am kind of excited for fall! Mostly because I love fall attire and all the fun and cozy layers! Hi friends, yay it’s Friday!  So happy that the weekend is here! Do you girls have any exciting end of summer plans? I am so sad summer is almost over BUT…I am so excited for fall!! I love this time of year, when the days are hot and the nights are cool. It’s the absolute best! I wanted to share a few dresses I found with you that are great transitional pieces. This dress is so perfect for summer and for transitioning into fall because of its long sleeves. They are extra wide and have elastic cuffs so you can wear them at your elbow or your wrist. Happy Friday Eve! I hope you are all having a wonderful week so far. I have been running around getting the kids ready for back to school.  Summer breaks seem like they just keep getting shorter. Either that or they just go by more quickly! Who knows!?  Anyhow, I found the cutest kimono that is so on trend.  The one I found is the best style and cut and I figured out three different ways to wear it to make it look fresh and different! I am so excited to share it with you girls! Take a look below to see the three ways I styled it!

 

 

 

 

O N E

The Classic Kimono styling

The tried and true classic kimono. This one is obvious I know but Kimonos, in my opinion are one of the best closet staples you can get. They are so versatile and go with jeans of any color, shorts of any kind, dresses both short and long and can be used as swim cover ups. Some can even be used as scarves. They are one of those pieces that fits in almost every scenario and are great for traveling. Not only do they take up no space in your suitcase but they fold up so small you can keep them in your purse and use it as a blanket while on a plane.  So in my opinion you really get the most for your money with these beauties.

 

 

 

T W O

Front tie or knot

The second way, I can’t even get over how cute it is. It can be worn sort of in two ways within this style depending on how tight you tie it in front. One way almost actually looks like a dress if you tie it up tight. To me this is the perfect way to wear it as a swim cover. Think going into the sit down restaurant by the pool at your vacation resort. You don’t want to go get in clothes but you also don’t want to walk into and sit in your swimsuit so this is perfect. Also, it would be so cute with leggings and a tank too. If you tie it a little looser then you get a different feel. Just play around with the front two pieces to see how it feels with the rest of the pieces you pair it with. Also, I love the sleeve length on this one it’s perfect!

 

 

 

T H R E E

Tucked in criss-cross top 

 

In order to make this last way work, you will need to wear pants, shorts or leggings because you need to be able to tuck it in. It’s super easy, you just pull the right front panel of the kimono across your waist and tuck it right behind where your belt loop would be on the left side and tuck it in. For the left side cross it over and tuck it into the right side of your pants. Then adjust everything accordingly until it looks right. This kind of gives you a wrap look. If you really wanted to you can tuck in the back panel too then it will fully look like a blouse!  

 

 

B O N U S   O U T F I T

This is actually a scarf but is large enough that it works so good as a shawl/wrap too! I paired it with denim jeans and these super cute booties from Sole Society. They are really cute and so comfortable. You can just pull them on because they have elastic siding which is such a time saver. Plus, they are  little metallic too which is a fun touch. I also added in this grey mini tote. It’s the perfect size and can be worn by the handles or crossbody!

For any closet, basic items are so important. They are the glue that keeps everything together. Items like basic tee’s, tank tops and cami’s, denim jeans and a black cotton dress.  Without these items you can’t wear the sheer blouse or the cute kimono you have. Also sometimes less is more. I honestly love wearing a white tee with denim jeans or cutoffs and especially joggers! Adding fun statement jewelry, a nice handbag and heels is all you need. That’s why I love Jockey. They have tried and true basics for both you and your guys closet. Their T’s are good quality, comfortable & will last for many seasons. I can wear them all day and not feel like I need to change into something more comfortable. That is super important to me.

Hi and happy Tuesday!  I hope you all had a great weekend and are enjoying the last bit of summer! I still can’t believe it’s already coming to an end. Where does the time go?.  We were in Palm Springs over the weekend celebrating our friends Birthday…we had the best time! It was so nice to disconnect for a few days. We mainly lounged poolside, went out for dinners and even hit up the casino for a comedy show!  I don’t think I belly laughed that hard in a long time. With all the traveling and especially to hot destinations I’ve been on the lookout for easy, comfortable and cool travel outfits. Three hours in the car and it was so comfortable.  I’m so excited to share them with you!

I love this short sleeve midi shift dress for an easy every day look but it is especially great on vacation. It takes up no room in my suitcase, it can be styled so many different ways and is such a good travel day outfit! It is made by Lord & Taylor and comes in 4 colors plus…of course…it passes my soft and cozy test! I actually have it in Black and Cargo green and really love both. I can not believe it is already August! This summer is going by way too fast. I feel like school just got out for summer and I’m already thinking about back to school and all the things we need to finish to feel prepared. One of the most hectic parts of a day is the morning time. Getting the kids ready, dressed, fed and out of the door on time can be a struggle.

If you’ve been following along this week you’d know we already covered how to have successful mornings with the littles but I didn’t really cover what I do for the hubs and myself.  If I don’t eat with the kids then I sometimes go way too long before getting in a good meal. Which is terrible… I know! So, I’ve found a few easy things to add to my morning routine that have really helped make sure that doesn’t happen. They are so delicious and make sure my day gets off to a great start!

L E M O N   W A T E R

I love to start the day with hot lemon water. Water helps with the obvious..hydration and to keep your skin looking nice. Lemons are packed with nutrients including vitamin C, B-complex vitamins, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, and fiber. They even contain more potassium than apples or grapes which is good for your heart and brain function! Lemons also help your Immune System, aid in digestion and help to flush toxins out of your body. So it’s a great way to start every morning. 

 

 

C O F F E E

We have the Nespresso machine which I absolutely love. I make my coffee with a shot of espresso, a splash of cream, a pinch of cinnamon,  then I add in a scoop of Vital Proteins with collagen which I’ve shared with you girls before. The Collagen helps with hair, bones, joints & nails. I’ve been taking 1 scoop a day consistently and my nails have never been longer or stronger!

 

 

M E A L   O P T I O N   O N E

This meal is so fast and easy to make and it’s the egg and cheese burrito.  I scramble 2 organic eggs add in 1/4 cup almond milk cheese, and everything but the bagel seasoning which I get from Trader Joe’s. Then I quickly cook an uncooked tortilla, fold it all up and viola…. the perfect breakfast packed with protein and flavor. 

 

 

M E A L   O P T I O N   T W O  

Sometimes I am not really in the mood for eggs so this is my favorite alternative easy breakfast. I toast flaxseed bread and spread peanut butter on it which is my source of protein. Then I slice bananas and drizzle raw honey on top.  You can also sprinkle on some slivered almonds too. If I have an extra sweet tooth, I’ve been known to add a dollop of whipped cream too!  Fun fact…raw honey is a great power food.  It can give you energy and boost your immune system it is also full of antioxidants AND has antibacterial properties. 

 

V I T A M I N S

I believe that vitamins are so important and I try to take mine every day. Recently we got a juicer and now I always try to have fresh organic oranges on hand for it. That way after breakfast I can have a small glass of fresh squeezed OJ to take my vitamins with. 

 

O U T F I T   D E T A I L S

My morning routine can only be made better by the coziest of outfits.  And I have to say, these yoga pants and tee are so comfortable. You know how I like my clothing cozy and soft, and these feel like butter. I love that these pants are light weight enough to wear in the summer but still have that cozy factor. The material is stretchy and they have an elastic waist band and pockets! This top is the softest material. It comes in a few colors and is the perfect staple item. Great to wear with a pair of jeans during the day or just to lounge around the house in. Its really nice quality. Jockey also has a really great variety of bralettes and tank tops that are also great every day items to have on hand.
