Ok girls…the weather is heating up and so are summer plans. I wanted to do a post to give you some ideas of what to wear and bring with you on a pool or beach day.  Obviously a cute swimsuit is the most important part of a pool day.  But sunscreen and sunnies are really important too! So… I gathered some of my favorite accessories and beauty items that I like to have with me when I am lounging poolside. Hopefully you will find this helpful as you prepare for those fun summer days at the beach, lake or a poolside that are sure to come!

My Look

Girls…this is one of the best cover-ups ever!  This billowy maxi dress has thin spaghetti straps and a deep V-back and front. It is perfect to slip on over your suit for a poolside lunch. It is so comfortable and light and breathable. It runs a little big and comes in Grey and in Black. For reference I’m 5-7 and wearing the xs here. It is the perfect staple item for summer that will never go out of style. It is a great price point too and you will get SO much use out of it.

Alright girls, I found a few more goodies I want to share with you! Since my family celebrated my dads birthday this weekend and I had been searching for a gift recently.  It got me thinking that maybe you were looking for presents as well.  I know there are so many graduations happening and there is always someone who is celebrating a birthday… I found the perfect gift. I am always on the hunt for great everyday or travel tote bags. And I found them at Sole Society!  If you are looking… this would be the perfect gift! I found the best tote! This bag is both classy and functional. I loved it so much I got two of them! One satchel in a beautiful camel colored suede and the other in a mixed cream fabric. They are the perfect everyday tote  that will carry all of your favorite essentials and then go straight to dinner. This sleek satchel features a leather tassel & top zipper closure to prevent anything from falling out and to protect your belongings while traveling. The Handle is a metal O-ring with really pretty braided detail and a pretty decorative tassel.  I love tassels they are so fun and trendy! This Bag  also has a removable cross-body strap which I love because hands free options are so convenient. Lastly, this bag has an internal zippered pocket for your smaller items like lip gloss, hand sanitizer etc.

Shoes

I am wearing the Roselda Criss Cross Mules in the color mushroom and they are so comfy! They do come in a really pretty pink and a yellow as well.  These suede slides have a pointed toe and cutout details.The feminine pastel hues all come in a suede fabric. They would be so good for work under a pair of slacks. You can also pair them like I did with your favorite shorts and any top…dressy or casual!

Happy Friday friends.  I have been getting a lot of questions recently about what to wear to a special summer event. I know a lot of you have Graduations to attend, Baby or Bridal showers to go to or that are in your honor.  So to help you find something special for your events…I headed to Nordstrom to find the perfect outfit. Nordstrom did not disappoint. I found the most unique jumpsuit that I wanted to share with you. It’s definitely a statement piece that would be so memorable for any event. It is so fresh and fun. I normally don’t gravitate to ruffles but if there is a way to make them a little edgier or unique then I am all in. I’ve also added a few other looks as well to help you find something that may work for an event you have coming up.  Scroll down below to see what I found and how I styled it. 

Jumpsuit

This jumpsuit is a really pretty and unique garment. This Frill Bandeau Jumpsuit from Topshop features a Ruffle on the right side that travels down the entire length of the right side. It also can be cinched at the waist with the provided tie or you can belt it to dress it up a bit. I would say that it runs true to size and is a nice mid weight fabric. It is strapless with a back zip closure and is really comfortable. Even though this jumpsuit is generally not see through I would recommend wearing nude undergarments and obviously a strapless bra.  This jumpsuit comes in two colors…Ivory and also a really pretty light blue. You can pair it with sandals, a casual tote and some statement earrings or heels and edgy jacket for a fun night-time look. This look is so fun and will make any event memorable.

Hello Friends! It is so gorgeous in San Diego today! I am really looking forward to summer this year. Especially after going to Mammoth last week and seeing snow! Brrr…lol. Now that the weather is heating up, I’m constantly on the look out for great summer pieces. I’m really loving rompers this season and dresses too. I am finding myself trying pieces that are a little out of the norm for me by adding color or a pattern I wouldn’t normally grab. Trend swapping and thinking outside of the box can help your style evolve through the years. But I will never wander too far from my tried and true pieces. Dresses and rompers are a great choice because they are effortless. Just pair them with your favorite pair of flats, a cute bag and some statement earrings and your good to go! They keep you cool on the hot days and are so stylish. With that said…to be comfortable and feel good in what you are wearing is always the goal!   I did recently find a couple of very budget friendly dresses and a few items to pair them with that I want to share with you today….

Dresses

I found two dresses that I want to share. The first one is the Eyelet Embroidered Off-the-Shoulder Midi Dress. Girls..this dress is so cute! I am wearing a size X-Small and I would say it runs a little large. I love the length and it is fully lined which is a bonus….however I still recommend wearing nude undergarments.  It comes in 4 colors including black and has really pretty eyelet embroidery detail on it. The top ruffle is stretchy too so you can get a better fit.  This dress is a must have to take on vacation! The next dress I found was the Floral V-Neck Midi Dress. It has a really cute “V” neck cut in both the front and the back which I think is really flattering. Also, it has a tie at the waist so you can accentuate your figure and get a better fit for your shape. This dress has pockets and is fully lined and true to size. I am wearing a size Small.  Plus, the pattern is really fun and a little different from what I normally grab. Last thing I would say about this dress is that it is suitcase friendly! It barely wrinkles at all!

Handbag

 I chose this mini tote bag to complete my outfit. It’s made of a natural colored basket weave seagrass-straw which adds a nice texture to any basic outfit. You can carry it by the handles or throw it over your shoulder with the cross-body strap. The main compartment is secured with a magnetic snap and includes an inner slip pocket for valuables, while the flat bottom helps prevent the tote from falling over. It has a really cute pom-pom charm to add some additional character to the bag which I love.  FYI…I do want to point out that this bag is Mini! I was pretty surprised when I got it in the mail. However it can still hold your necessities like phone, lip gloss, hand sanitizer, sunglasses, gum, etc.  It is not a carry all or a beach bag tote. But this bag is perfect when you don’t want to carry a large heavy bag and only need the essentials with you. 

Sandals  

These sandals come in six other colors.  They are the Sam Edelman Carolina Sling-Back Sandals.  These are not the sandals pictured but would have gone really well with either dress. These sandals have extra built-in padding. These shoes also have a contrasting stitch detail that outlines your foot.  Also, they slide on and off easily without having to unbuckle them each time  because of the hidden elastic behind the buckle. This is a time saver when you’re trying to run out of the door in the morning.  These could be paired with practically any casual outfit you wanted to wear them with. So you’d get a lot of use out of them this season.

I am so excited to share my recent jewelry haul with you. I mentioned last week how much I was enjoying adding pops of color to my wardrobe. Also, that I was wanting to look for some bright accessories and jewelry. Well… BaubleBar delivered! I picked up a few pair of earrings and some of the coolest bracelet sets. The price point on these are always so good which makes them such fun birthday presents or maybe even bridesmaid gifts! I have always loved BaubleBar and they always have really great statement pieces. They have so many colors and styles right now that I know you will love so definitely take a look if you are in the market for some fun jewelry! 

Bracelet Sets

 I am so in love with these bracelet sets! I got two of them one was the Alidia set which offers 5 different bracelets. One with an array of  rainbow emerald shape gems and the other 4 are filled with solid color bright gems that are also emerald shape. Each has a pull closure which is nice because you can do it yourself easily. They are pretty stiff though so they should stay the size you tighten them to and stay all day! The other set I got is the Lina Set.  This set features Seven separate bracelets with varying silhouettes in both crystals and pearls. Both sets are perfect for layering and pairing with everything already in your wardrobe. Because of their unique closure too they will fit any size wrist. My mini me can even wear them!

Earrings

I grabbed up several different statement pieces this week that I want to show you. The first pair is the Rosa Drop Earrings. I have these in two different colors but they are offered in four. I chose the white and the blue which is really like a turquoise. Really cute and add something fun to whatever you wear them with. The next pair is the  Renata Raffia Heart earring. I chose these in the natural color. They are really light and a great size. Because of the natural hue there is no color they can’t be paired with. These do come in two other color options as well.  I also wanted to mention these because I love them. But they were out of this color and I am hoping they will be restocked again. The last ones are just my favorite pair that I wear multiple times a week. So I wanted you to have a link to them. 

Studs

These oversized heart studs are so sweet. The Nellia Heart Drop Earrings comes in 6 different colors and offers 4 clip-on options as well. I have them in white and gold. Such a fun touch to a simple outfit this summer.

Hi friends! I hope you are all having a great week following your Memorial Day weekend. Did you do anything fun or shop the sales?! I definitely did! I’ll share more of the cute things I found soon. But for now…I’m so excited to share these finds with you. I can’t get enough of all of the beautiful summer dresses and rompers out right now. So many fun colors out there too. I’m finding a lot of whites and neutrals which you know I LOVE. But surprisingly, I’m getting really into fun pops of color to add to my loved neutrals. I found more fun dresses I wanted to share from Free People with you girls. They are so cute and really different from each other. I also picked up a really great versatile handbag that I think you will love. You can wear it with nearly everything!

Dresses

 These two dresses are so great. I wore this midi dress over and over again while I was in Cabo.  I actually also wore it as a swim cover up 2 of the days.  It’s so comfortable and lightweight. It has really pretty embroidery, cutwork and fun tassel details on the sleeves. In love! It’s the perfect semi sheer boho silhouette. It does run big though… so I would size down. The second dress is so fun! It has really great bell sleeves and the dress has so much movement. The crinkly sheer layer of chiffon is over a removable black slip dress that has adjustable straps. This allows for the perfect fit. I love the floral print on this one as well. Another great part is that the neckline is a drawstring so you can play around with that fit as well too.

Handbag

The Handbag I’m wearing is so pretty you guys. It is an oversized, fully lined macramé clutch with wood and resin handles. I love the fringe tassel trim…surprising right?  The handles are really pretty and actually look a little like mother of pearl in my opinion. This would go good with almost any summer dress. Especially most of the ones I linked in this blog!

Hi Friends! I hope you all enjoyed the long Memorial weekend. So many good sales were happening!! Were you able to take advantage of the sales and bring home some cute pieces?!  I just got back from a family vacation myself for the holiday. We went to Mammoth with a few other families (my college girlfriends and their fams) and it was so fun and beautiful there. We road tripped it and honestly it was such good quality time with friends, the hubs and our littles.  It even snowed while we were there…crazy that it’s almost June?!  The mountains were white and so, so gorgeous. Big change from Sunny San Diego!

Black & White Handbag

This bag would be great for travel, pool or just a fun new summer tote. It will fit all of your travel/pool items. I picked up two different pair of shoes this week that I want to share with you. The first pair is this really cute leather strappy flat sandals. They are made out of leather and can literally be worn with anything. I got them in the color st. tropez  which is a nude color.  They also come in a black and a blush color. Both are super pretty. I love them because they add a really cute detail without taking away from the outfit. I will say though that the top strap is a tiny bit loose but would be so good for anyone with high arches. The other pair was the criss cross slides in the color cream. They are really comfortable with a cute metal detail. I would pair these with any maxi dresses.

Hi friends! I hope you’re all having a great week. Over the weekend we went to my parents house for dinner, which is something we try to do at least once every 1-2 weeks.  My mom made her amazing side dishes to compliment the main entree : grilled salmon.  If you watch my ig stories I shared that marinade on their last week.  It’s so simple, easy and D-lish!  Basically it’s EVOO, zested garlic, zested lemon, salt and pepper.  Well today I’m excited to share what I wore to dinner in case you have a casual event coming up. With the sun out, everyone is wearing dresses and shorts and I’m really into all the fun “paper bag” shorts I’ve been seeing lots of lately.   This comfy-chic outfit I’m wearing is from Amaryllis!   See below for more details….

You all know my love for all things soft and neutral…and girls this shirt is really soft! This is a boatneck style but can actually be worn of the shoulder which I think is really flattering. It is a cotton blend with fun bell sleeves as well. It would go really great with any shorts or your favorite pair of jeans. Dress it up with some fun accessories. Also, this top has cute stitching detail at the shoulders to add a little something extra.

Hello my friends! Are any of you surprised to see so much color lately on my blog? If you have been following me recently you know that I just got back from a vacation with the hubs and completely fell in love with all the vibrant colors we saw in Cabo. I am obsessed with how soft this shirt is. I want to go back and buy it in every color. It’s seriously like butter.  This shirt is really cute & has a flattering cut.  Would be the perfect basic tee in white, grey or black, you could wear them with almost everything.  Jockey has so many styles and colors to choose from too.  It has a nice hem and cuffs on the sleeves and bottom of the shirt. It feels high quality and you can tell it will last a long time. Which is something you want out of a staple item. They are a really good price too.   Try these, I promise you won’t regret it!

Bottoms

These Yoga Pants are almost the same material as the shirt which means they are also ridiculously soft. They are called Yoga pants however,  I would treat them as lounge pants around the house or pajamas. So comfortable… I want to wear them all the time. The bottoms do run a little large though so if you are in between sizes I would recommend sizing down depending on the fit you are going for. This Tropical leaf pattern is so fun but they do come in 2 other colors (Black and Stripes) if the bright pattern isn’t for you.  These Yoga pants have a thick elastic waist band and a wide boot cut leg and the entire pant has a really nice stretch to it. And as always the best part…they have pockets!!

 The hubby and I recently got back from Mexico and I am feeling so inspired! I love the culture there and all of the bright colors!  (and I can’t forget all the yummy tacos and margaritas).  This recent trip really inspired me to step out of my neutral comfort zone (no pun)… and I’ve been having so much fun sharing pops of color with you! If you’re also a neutral lover like me I recommend starting to incorporate color with accessories.  The perfect pieces that come to mind are earrings, bracelets, scarves, etc.

We all know how much I love tassels and pom-pom’s!  And speaking of tassels and pom poms…I went crazy in Cabo.  So many of the cute little shops had tassels on everything.  It was so fun shopping…and I ended up buying a cute bag with a black tassel on it.  The embroidery on this dress is super pretty and really well done with careful attention to detail. It comes in a few color options, Red, Yellow (both pictured) and Turquoise…each one just as pretty as the next! If you are looking for a fun summer dress for a vacation or even just a BBQ this dress would be perfect! Also, this dress is so fun to accessorize, you can go so many directions with it! 

FYI:  You can wear your normal bra with this dress!!
